Voluntary Pre-K

We offer Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten here at Sacred Heart Early Child Care Center. The Voluntary Prekindergarten program was established by a Florida state constitutional amendment in 2002. The program is free and participation is voluntary for every child that is 4 years of age by September 1st each year and resides in Florida.  This program gives children a jump start by preparing them for school and enhancing their pre-reading, pre-math, language and social skills. By developing the skills children need to become strong readers and students at an early age, children are more likely to be successful in school. Our VPK classrooms offer high-quality programs that include high literacy standards, developmentally appropriate curriculum, manageable class sizes, and qualified teachers.

Sacred Heart is proud to administer the VPK learning opportunity for 4 year olds, and adhere to the seven domains of the VPK Education Standards:

  • Physical Health
  • Approaches to Learning
  • Social and Emotional Development
  • Language and Communication
  • Emergent Literacy
  • Cognitave Development and general Knowledge
  • Motor Development

The VPK program is in high demand, and interested parents should contact us immediately for information about enrollment.
